Step 1: Choose a Niche and Domain Name
1.1 Choose Your Niche
Before you dive into the technical setup, it’s crucial to decide on a niche. Your niche should be something you are passionate about and have knowledge in, and it should have an audience that is willing to read your content. A niche website is a website that focuses on a specific and narrow topic. Niche websites are able to create content for a targeted audience that is interested in a particular subject. There are large niches and smaller niches that a website can focus on. You may be interested in food, fashion or youtube so your blog should be in what niche you know. I know and research and read all about debt, finance and making money ideas like blogging and affiliate marketing, so that is the niche area I choose for my blog.
1.2 Choose a Domain Name
Your domain name is your blog’s address on the web. It should be memorable, relevant to your niche, and easy to spell. Use tools like Namecheap or Bluehost’s domain search to find the perfect domain. I also suggest doing an internet search of your proposed blog name to make sure that you can also set up social media accounts with the same name as your blog.
